Of course, the program of the cycle is following the original pattern, bringing the novice to the expert level in sound synthesis and Eurorack type systems - and flavoured by the unique vision of Swaroop. The program is taught through prism of VCV rack and the equipment, presented in the school.

Duration: Each class spans 4 hours, totalling 40 hours

• Class 0.5:  Arrival, meet and greet

• Class 1: Physics of Sound + Eurorack

  • Explore the fundamental principles of sound physics alongside an introduction to Eurorack modular synthesis systems.

• Class 2: VCO, LFO + VCF

  • Delve into Voltage-Controlled Oscillators (VCOs), Low-Frequency Oscillators (LFOs), and Voltage-Controlled Filters (VCFs), understanding their functions and applications in modular synthesis.

• Class 3: EG (ADSR) + VCA

  • Learn about Envelope Generators (EGs) with a focus on Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release (ADSR) parameters, coupled with Voltage-Controlled Amplifiers (VCAs), essential for shaping and controlling sound dynamics.

• Class 4: Clock, CV, Gate, Trig, Sequencer, Arp

  • Dive into the intricate world of clock signals, Control Voltage (CV), gates, triggers, sequencers, and arpeggiators, mastering the rhythmic and melodic aspects of modular synthesis.

• Class 5: DSP + Synthesis Methods

  • Explore Digital Signal Processing (DSP) techniques and various synthesis methods, broadening your understanding of sound creation and manipulation within modular systems.

• Class 6: Simple Patching, Practice of Synthesis Methods + Interfacing or Hybrid Systems

  • Engage in hands-on patching exercises to reinforce synthesis methods, while also learning about interfacing and hybrid modular systems to expand your sonic palette.

• Class 7: Multilayering and Self-generating complex patterns build up

  • Discover advanced techniques for multilayering sounds and constructing self-generating complex patterns, fostering creativity and experimentation in modular synthesis compositions.

• Class 8: Modular in Studio Context + Composition Build Up

  • Understand the integration of modular synthesis setups in studio environments, focusing on composition techniques to construct cohesive musical pieces using modular instruments.

• Class 9: Live Performance Mode

  • Transition into live performance mode, learning strategies for improvisation, interaction, and real-time manipulation of modular synthesizers to captivate audiences in live settings.

• Class 10: Graduation: mini performance + diploma

  • Showcase your skills acquired throughout the course in a mini performance, culminating in a graduation ceremony where you'll receive a diploma, symbolizing your proficiency in modular synthesis.
